Project Description
Personal Impact Statement
The Contemporary Area of Al Seef has been created as a complementary foil to the Heritage Area which forms part of the wider masterplan. The Contemporary Area has activated 670m of the Dubai Creek waterfront with boutique food and beverage, retail, hospitality, and marina amenities over a total of GFA of 85,000sqm.
As project architect for one of the retail promenade buildings through the schematic and documentation stages, I coordinated with operator and design teams as contractors were appointed, managing the incorporation of preferred structural and facade details.
The fast project timeframe as well as the unification of facade and spatial themes between the retail plots were key challenges. Repeating details, materials and consistent proportions were shared and managed between team members.
The highly awarded Al Seef promenade keeps with the original design intent to respond to the surrounding urban realm while creating a vibrant and modern retail, food and beverage destination.
