Project Description
Personal Impact Statement
The scheme incorporates a series of premium villas with private infinity pools, townhouses with shared pool amenity and 4 apartment blocks. The residential scheme is underpinned by a publicly accessible beach club located adjacent to a proposed new marina, which is set to be complete with food and beverage outlets, leisure facilities including gym and spa, small retail units and a large external hospitality space with a pool terrace.
I functioned as a design architect with small support team, tasked with programming and designing the resort facilities and marina. A loose project brief required some schematic elaboration of areas which I drew from previous experience and relevant local references.
Key challenges included the steep rugged site terrainand the limited conceptual design scope provided.
I formulated revised areas using industry standardised facilities and support areas which were scaled to suit the size of the development. The site terrain gradient was utilised for access and view optimisation.
The whollistic approach to programme organisation resulted in dynamic tiered space with concealed but optimised BOH allocation and servicing. The project has gone on to win various awards and publications.
