Project Description

Personal Impact Statement

The diverse programme in this project brief included a hybrid hotel-office tower, supporting convention space, retail, residential and soho components. The variety of programme and irregular site demanded a unique solution to access, circulation and adjacency. This included a centralised drop-off beneath the convention hall, easing the requirement for perimiter vehicle access and improving the street frontage and public realm.

I worked on this project masterplanning through the early concept stages through to focusing in on the retail configuration and design into early construction.

Starting in a small team in the concept stage and forming part of a larger coordination and design team, I managed the coordination of design interface between different programmatic elements as well as being the retail architect.

With complex site geometry and a diverse breif there were many typologies each with seperate access requirements. I designed a locallised subterranian vehicle drop off with private vehicle, taxi and buss drop-offs which provided centralised secure and concealed access to multiple services.

The resulting design outcome has won multiple international and local awards for the creative manner in which cronstrains were addressed and design excellence was achieved.
